This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for serving as a Security Cooperation subject matter expert (SME) who supervises a regional team tasked with overseeing execution of Agency-managed Security Cooperation (SC) programs on a regional basis.
Duties
As a SUPERVISORY REGIONAL TEAM ADVISOR at the GS-0301-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Subject matter expert (SME) who supervises a regional team tasked with overseeing execution of Agency-managed Security Cooperation (SC) programs on a regional basis.
Responsible for the strategic planning, policy coordination and implementation of various SC programs relating to regional constructs, ensures the connection to OSD Policy and Combatant Command goals and objectives are consistent with established DOD policy, Arms Export Control Act (AECA), Title 22 and Title 10, Foreign Assistance Act (FAA), and other laws passed by Congress which may levy specific accountability and monitoring requirements on SC programs.
Manages regionally focused activities with the National Security Council and other inter-agency organizations, develops and maintains close continuing liaison with the Department of State, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Policy and other DOD agencies/MilDeps, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and Security Cooperation Offices in foreign countries to disseminate policy, advise, and support the application of Agency-managed SC programs.
Coordinates and applies DOD policies, positions, plans and procedures related to SC programs, including compliance with program policy guidance and budget execution, instructions, and directives.
Develops new ways to improve program related processes and procedures to enhance responsiveness to customers. Seeks and reinforces innovative ways to meet the current and future needs of the SC and the regional portfolio.
Acts as the Agency Point of Contact, providing information regarding regional activities to USG agencies, partner countries, and other interested parties.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service:
Managing critical Department of Defense Security Cooperation (SC) programs to execute national security objectives;
Serving as the point of contact on providing information regarding regional SC activities to United States Government (USG) partners and foreign partners;
Developing, implementing, and monitoring policies, procedures and special projects related to SC Programs and; providing strategic planning and oversight of various Security Cooperation programs, while supervising a diverse group of personnel.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
