Duties
Serve as senior advisor to the State and National management and executive leadership in support of achieving the program objectives.
Serve as the Deputy Authorized Officer for the Trans Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) federal right-of-way and represent the Bureau in the multi state and federal agency oversight of a designated critical national infrastructure.
Use diverse laws, policies and procedures to lead and manage the Alaska Lands and Realty programs within the Division in the Alaska State Office.
Work with multiple internal and external parties to successfully implement, monitor and review the success of the program and Division for the Alaska State Office.
Responsible for managing the following programs: Title/Land Status, Lands/Realty, Pipeline Monitoring/Environmental Compliance, Recordable Disclaimers of Interest/Navigability.
Develop detailed plans to improve efficient operations; implement plans and initiatives to achieve mission and policy objectives; and assess program accomplishment and make course corrections when necessary.

- Supervisory Probationary Period: If you are selected for this position, you will be required to serve a one year supervisory/managerial probationary period if one has not previously been completed.

Qualifications

You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: provide leadership and supervision to staff that handles work in: Public Land and Realty activities involving the acquisition, disposal, or use and occupancy of public lands, including Federal and State land, mineral and environmental laws, regulations, policies and procedures; create policy and guidance that meets State/Region/National standards; provide leadership and direction to implement and carryout mission goals, objectives, and strategies for a State, Region, or District regarding Public Land and Realty activities; work with various audiences (federal agencies, the public, private sector, non-profit organizations, and other stakeholders) to work on issues regarding federal and state lands.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
