This position will be assigned to the Air Force Service Center at Port San Antonio, TX.
This is a regular full-time category position with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits.
Duties
Performs the full range of accounting duties using double-entry accrual accounting methods for programs with a net worth of $138M. Classifies and verifies a wide variety of accounting data assure their mathematical correctness and completeness of information. Provides end-of-month accrual information to general ledger accountants. Maintains subsidiary ledgers on general accounts receivable for each of the nine central funds. This process involves some 25-30 general ledger accounts containing numerous sub-accounts, including other Services, and encompasses posting invoicing, monthly reconciliation with general ledgers, and follow-up as necessary to ensure collection. Reviews financial completion reports from bases receiving advanced funding for hosting sporting events. Verifies the reports include receipts for each expenditure and that expenditures are in accordance with current regulations. Ensures those reports are received on a timely basis. Makes final settlement with host bases. Prepares journal entries and files as required and prepares periodic reports. Coordinates with supervisor on procedural changes needed and works with appropriate personnel to accomplish objectives. Communicates with personnel in the field and within the Services Center to resolve problems and correct discrepancies. Reviews, analyzes, and reconciles computer-generated cash transactions received or disbursed through the worldwide banking system as shown on each day's statement. This includes ensuring reconciliation/reimbursement of the worldwide transactions processed by the Shared Service Center through the AFMWR Fund and verifying appropriate documentation is received to support entries. Reports prepared may include financial statements and other miscellaneous financial data as required. Performs other duties as assigned including back-up support as required.

Qualifying Experience:
Progressively responsible experience with double entry accounting procedures and techniques. Experience with compilng and record data. Must have experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access).
