Serves as a lead Federal Staffing accountability auditor, responsible for the full range of activities associated with accountability reviews of Justice Management Division HR Operations work. Provides leadership and expert advice to management. The work has direct effects over the authorities granted to or revoked from the JMD-HR Office.

As a Human Resources Specialist (GS-0201-14), your typical work assignments or responsibilities may include the following: Plans and conducts audits, analyzing data from case reviews, identifying required, recommended, and corrective actions, and developing findings for report preparation. Performs strategic planning of complex human resource accountability audits of broad scope and national significance. Develops, interprets, and analyzes data extracts and reports from automated HR databases and develops the most efficient and effective automated systems approach to conducting audits. Provides component-wide advisory, consultative, and technical services to JMD/HR staff and all levels of line managers on issues affecting the full range of Human Resources management disciplines in support of audit findings. Reviews, develops, and approves issues written instructions and standard operating procedures, and ensures compliance. Conducts HR Audits

Requirements

  • You must be a United States Citizen or National.
  • You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.

Qualifications

To qualify for the position of Human Resources Specialist at (GS-0201-14), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to. If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information). For the GS-14, applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent pay band in Federal service in operations, program oversight or accountability of Federal HR staffing (e.g., Recruitment and placement) You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including Time-in-Grade, by the closing date of this announcement, 04/04/2024.
