About the Position: This position is located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The incumbent will work as an Engineering Technician for the Black Warrior & Tombigbee/ Alabama-Coosa project. Exercises program management responsibility for contracting and maintenance activities of the project. This is a career ladder position with promotion potential to the GS-11 grade level.

Duties

Reviews and evaluates contractor's planning, construction, maintenance and repair efforts on project infrastructure including roads, buildings, utility systems, communications systems, security systems, and docking facilities. Oversees lock, dam and spillway contract maintenance and repair. Plans and prepares conceptual designs, specifications, and cost estimates. Reviews construction and O and M contractor cost breakdown, progress measurement data, and reports of material and equipment. Utilizes the Facilities and Equipment Management System and monitors O and M contractor usage of the same. Administer and monitor construction, O and M, and purchase order procurements. Estimate contractor expenditures and tracks funds availability. Prepares monthly pay estimates.
