This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the Certain Competitive Service / Modified Direct Hire Authority. Duties

You will examine powered and nonpowered ground handling and ground support equipment for damage or malfunction. You will perform preventive maintenance on all types of ground handling/ground support equipment. You will work jointly with journeyman in troubleshooting, repairing and testing of complex type equipment. You will repair ground support equipment by disassembling, replacing worn parts, reassembling and testing.

• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license

• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You may be required to lift up to 40 lbs.
• This position is subject to abnormal atmospheric conditions with temperatures ranging from below freezing to above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to perform common tasks including:1) Examining powered and non-powered ground handling and group support equipment for damage or malfunction; 2) Performing routine repair and preventive maintenance on all types of ground handling/ground support equipment; 3) Troubleshooting, repairing and testing complex type equipment; and 4) Repairing, replacing, and aligning brakes, tubing, wheels, filters, axels, bearings, controls, hydraulic jacks, and similar items.
