You will serve as a General Inspection, Investigation, and Compliance Officer in the Digital, Analytics, Infrastructure, and Technology Advancement Group of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
You will be designated in writing as the technical agent representing the US Government responsible for ensuring the assessment and efficiency of critical military and contractor ground operations and safety of flight programs.
You will ensure that applicable obligations and procedures are adhered to and that all personnel meet appropriate MIL-STD, and NAVAIR, qualifications and standards for the jobs they perform.
You will ensure Ground Operating Procedures (GOPs) and Flight Operating Procedures (FOPs) for local operations are establish and implemented.
You will conduct periodic surveys of flight and ground operations to detect adverse trends and reestablish procedural compliance with agreed upon methods. Such surveys may include flight checks of aircrew.
You will approve individual flights and selection of support personnel for those flights ensuring that the purpose of flight is contained within the applicable accepted flight standards.
You will perform as an integral member of the Aircraft Controlling Custodian Office (ACCO) and participate with all team members in planning and scheduling of ground and flight operations for designated projects.
You will ensure oversight of ground operations, ground related procedures and personnel qualifications in accordance with applicable provisions of the contract and the DCMA INST 8210.1 series.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11/12 grade level or DA-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Knowledge of aviation instructions and regulations governing ground and flight operations, including maintenance procedures; 2) Conducting surveys of flight and ground operations to detect adverse trends and directing corrective actions; 3) Demonstrating in-depth knowledge in all aspects of the operation of aircraft (i.e. engines, avionics, flight controls, etc.); and 4) Ensuring an organization establishes and implements Ground Operating Procedures and Flight Operating Procedures for local operations.
