Duties

Responds to fires and directs the crew in firefighting activities. Directs firefighters in placing of apparatus, adjustment of water pressures, etc. Conducts a complete examination of the patient to determine the nature, extent, and seriousness of his condition and searches for medical alert symbols. Directs and participates in training. Conducts training using both lecture and demonstration techniques. Performs work leader functions to include distributing and balancing workloads. Evaluates work in progress; amends or rejects work not meeting established standards.

• This position requires rotating shifts and a 53-hour workweek.
• This position requires heavy physical lifting up to 45 pounds, climb ladders up to 100 feet, climb in and over obstacles and move charged fire hose lines.
• This position is subject to recall for all firefighting emergencies.
• This position is mission essential in support of unscheduled installation training missions.
• This position is an inclement weather position.

In addition to Specialized Experience, the position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Firefighter I & II, Fire Officer I, Fire Instructor I, Fire Inspector I, Airport Firefighter, National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT). This position requires that the individual possess and maintain the following DoD IFSAC or Pro-Board issued certifications.
