This position is located within the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration's (TIGTA), Office of Mission Support (OMS). The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Executive Assistant to the Assistant Inspector General for Mission Support (AIGMS). The incumbent performs a variety of analytic, technical, advisory, and administrative duties and functions related to the administrative management of OMS.

Duties

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-11. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. Serve as OMS' Internal Management Document System content provider responsible for facilitating the update process and coordinate the posting of OMS' policies and procedures. Receive and screen communications including the management of correspondence in OMS' e-mail box. Make travel arrangements; serve as timekeeper; and make small purchases.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-11, specialized experience is one year at the GS-09 level, or equivalent, that is related to the position as listed above or equivalent. Specialized experience is defined as: - Receiving correspondence for the supervisor and conducting the necessary follow up to ensure actions are timely completed; AND - Arranging conferences and other large meetings for the supervisor; AND - Coordinating action items resulting from meeting and conferences to ensure timely completion; AND - Using automated systems and databases (i.e. Microsoft Office products, SharePoint, case management system) to schedule meetings, type letters and memos, create presentations, and maintain case files for an office; AND - Identifying and analyzing plans and programs for an office. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: -Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Only graduate level education in excess of the first two years 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. For the GS-9, specialized experience is one year of experience at the GS-07 level, or equivalent, that is directly related to the position as listed above. Specialized experience is defined as: - Receiving correspondence for the supervisor and conducting the necessary follow-up to ensure actions are timely complete; AND - Coordinating action items resulting from meetings and conferences to ensure timely completion; AND - Using automated systems and databases (i.e. Microsoft Office products, SharePoint, case management system) to schedule meetings, type letters and memos, create presentations, and maintain case files for an office. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. For the GS-7, specialized experience is one year of experience at the GS-5 level, or equivalent, that is directly related to the position as listed above. Specialized experience is defined as: - Providing a full range of administrative support that includes tracking work products and following up on actions; AND - Preparing, composing, and reviewing correspondence for the supervisor; AND - Maintaining office record systems, including maintaining a calendar and coordinating travel arrangements OR One full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement based on a bachelor's degree that is demonstrated through class standing (upper 1/3 of class), grade point average (3.0/4.0 overall or 3.5/4.0 in the major), or election to membership in a qualifying national scholastic honor society. OR You may qualify on a combination of education and experience. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement, must equal at least 100 percent.

Education

Education Requirements: The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency. Refer to the OPM instructions.
