You will serve as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist in the Martial Arts and Fitness Center of Excellence of Training Command.
Duties
You will be responsible to the commander for the development, implementation, management and supervision of the unit’s organizational programs.
You will develop and adopt best practices, designs and present fitness lessons focused on increasing Marine strength, agility, mobility, speed, and power to maximize physical capabilities in combat.
You will maintain fitness expertise by reviewing, researching, and benchmarking emerging trends in the physical fitness, functional fitness and combat fitness industries.
You will create educational material and programs aimed at developing instructor trainers to build execute, and monitor progressive combat strength and conditioning programs.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current CPR certification.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position requires a certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing staff from basic to master level of Force Fitness Instructors and Martial Arts Instructors according to guidelines and systems approach; 2) Designing, administering, or evaluating the effects of unit and individual physical training protocols; and 3) Researching, educating, and instructing in basic, intermediate, and advanced techniques of strength and conditioning to trainers and instructors.

Education

Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the
U.S. Department of Education(external link) at the time the degree was obtained.

3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree
