Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in in physiology, sports and physical education, exercise science, human performance, health education, or community or public health with demonstrated experience working with athletes in a performance setting, or military environment. Demonstrated experience in teaching and coaching large groups. Must obtain the Semper Fit Sleep Coach Certification in the first 3 months (internally supported). Master's degree or higher preferred. Professional certification from an accredited organization such as the ACSM, CEP, NSCA, CSCS, CSCCa , SCCC, or equivalent is required. Demonstrate the ability to design and implement a vision for comprehensive sleep, performance, and health education programs.Professional experience writing, publishing, and developing prevention-based curriculum in sleep, performance, recovery, and health education curriculum for target populations.Demonstrate experience with community health campaigns or large-scale health fairs provided to the community or within a collegiate setting preferred. Demonstrate experience with the delivery and oversight of primary prevention-based resources, programs, facilities, and policies related to sleep science, the optimization of recovery and adaptation, and general health and wellness education. Experience working in an athletic collegiate, professional sport or military environment.At least one year of experience implementing and executing a budget for large scale programs is desired. Ability to obtain or demonstrate experience as a sleep health coach, educator, or implementing a sleep health curriculum is desired. The ability to articulate an understanding of health literacy needs of the population related to physical recovery, injury prevention, sleep health, and disease prevention orally and in writing is desired.The ability to obtain a sleep health coach certification within the first 12 months is desired.
