About the Position: This position serves as the Chief of the Patient Administration Department located at Kirk U.S. Army Health Clinic. It is a critical position that reports directly to the Deputy Commander for Administration on all matters relating to patient administration.

Duties
Responsible for planning, directing, and integrating the programs and processes of patient administration functions within the medical treatment facility (MTF).
Responsible for internal controls, audits, and vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with directives, acceptable quality assurance, and optimal productivity.
Coordinate the investigation of compliance violations, tracks and oversees corrective actions, and generates reports as required.
Responsible for reporting requirements of all Patient Administration functions.
Gather, comply, analyze, and maintain statistics related to health care services and population served.
Aid in quality assurance research projects and studies.
Responsible for interfacing with a full range of authorized beneficiaries or sponsors.
Supervise technical and administrative support staff assigned to the above functions.

- This position requires the employee to occasionally travel (no more than 5% of the time, in the most expedient manner) away from the normal duty station.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing various databases and healthcare systems to monitor the healthcare delivery processes within a medical treatment facility (MTF); running recurring reports and interpreting data; implementing solutions/recommendations to the identified problems with healthcare processes and/or systems; and monitors and coordinates personnel matters. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
