About the Position: This Engineering Technician position is located at U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center (ATC), Automotive Directorate with duty location of Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. (merit)
Duties
Manage test support operations that require testing of developmental systems/subsystems at unique test sites.
Ensure the operational readiness of the test range to include its equipment.
Provide on the job training to various personnel in regard to testing procedures for equipment.
Ensure that environmental policies are adhered to on the testing range.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Position requires U.S. Army Quartermaster School Sling Load Inspector Certification Course (SLICC) credentials: or, be able to obtain same within one year of entrance on duty.
- Position requires incumbent possess overhead bridge crane license and qualification (150 ton or greater) at time of appointment; or, be able to obtain same within three months of entrance on duty.
- The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. Detection of the presence of drugs is warranted.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- Position requires participation in the Medical Surveillance Program per ATC REG 385-2.
- 25% Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) is a requirement.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Develop test project management plans in the following commodities for transportability equipment; AND 2) Evaluate testing data to ensure test materials meet requirements; AND 3) Develop test procedures to determine whether test materials qualify for production. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower level/grade position in the federal service (NJ-03/GS-11).
