About the Position: This position is located at Fort Johnson, Louisiana. The surrounding community is comprised of the towns of Leesville, DeRidder, New Llano, & Anacoco. The nearest cities are Alexandria & Lake Charles. The area is considered rural with the Kisatchie National Forest, which offers hunting and recreational activities, located nearby. Also located nearby are Toledo Bend Lake, Vernon Lake & Anacoco Lake for those interested in fishing, boating, swimming, etc.
Duties
Work with and give training and repair assistance to military operators.
Perform operational tests, inspections, and periodic maintenance.
Remove, disassemble, inspect, test, adjust, and calibrate moving and stationary target systems components.
Utilize a variety of test equipment in the performance of duties.
Rebuild components by installing new parts on wiring
Remove, replace, repair, and rebuild a variety of electrical, electronic, and hydraulic components.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a Secret security clearance.
- This position requires working rotating shifts.
- This position requires business travel/TDY up to 5% of the time.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Electronics Mechanic without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform common electronic mechanic tasks; operate diagnostic equipment and power tools to perform simple mechanic tasks working under the close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
