About the Position: This position is located at A.T. Augusta Military Medical Center, formerly known as Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, within the Department of Patient Administration, Physical Evaluation Board Liaison OFCR (PEBLO).
Duties
Coordinate with the Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer (PEBLO) and arrange for medical information from the medical service treatment record, Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) and Veteran Affairs (VA) providers.
Submit written and verbal instructions through each step of the disability evaluation system process.
Prepare documentation for service members' medical service treatment records and disability evaluation board.
Perform a variety of technical and organizational support duties: work measurement, forecasting, capacity planning, and scheduling.
Compile/develop historical and statistical data. Develop slides, charts, and other documents for briefing.
Prepare travel arrangements for patients and their families from distant areas of the geographical region.
Serve as advocate for patients in transit and guides through the military treatment facility medical appointment process.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Tier 1 security investigation or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
- This position requires the incumbent must successfully complete the 6I-F4/340-F3 Training and Certification course within 180 days of their appointment and annually thereafter.

Specialized Experience: One year specialized experience which includes advising patients on the medical evaluation process such as explaining medical board findings, medical forms, and medical test preparations; utilizing automated software such as Electronic Medical Evaluation Board (eMEB), to prepare documents for patients and medical evaluation boards; scheduling patient medical appointments; and making travel arrangements for patient's scheduled appointments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
