This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA}, Operations Division, Office of Operations Management (OM), Arlington VA. This position(s} primary purpose is to provide a full range of support and management services in such functions as office management, personnel management, property/space management, financial management, procurement, general office services, and office supplies, and equipment, as well as various administrative activities within the office.

As a Administrative Support Specialistyour typical work assignments may include: Establishes, files and maintains, office records/files. Updates and enters data into electronic files or systems. Conducts periodic inventory of equipment and property utilization. Researches and resolves general issues related to employee pay and leave. Performs a wide range of administrative duties to support the procurement of supplies, property and services.

Qualifications

You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying specialized experience equivalent. For GS 11: One year of experience (equivalent to at least the GS-09 level or pay band in the Federal service) that includes performing the following duties: 1) Monitoring contract performance and quality assurance for timely oversight and lifecycle management requirements; 2) Reviewing, analyzing, and providing advice on human resources management requests submitted by managers; and, 3) Implementing and managing all administrative and management actions, programs and support service functions for the entire Section. OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. OR Some specialized experience as described in A, but less than one year; and I have less than three years of graduate-level education as described in B. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least to 100 percent to qualify. For GS 12: One year of experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level or pay band in the Federal service) that includes performing the following duties: 1) Monitoring contract performance and quality assurance for timely oversight and lifecycle management requirements; 2) Reviewing, analyzing, and providing advice on human resources management requests submitted by managers; 3) Implementing and managing all administrative and management actions, programs and support service functions for the entire Section; 4) Providing guidance to management, recommending actions to ensure the economical and efficient use of equipment and other property; 5) Researching and resolving individual employee personnel concerns or issues; and, 6) Analyzing and providing a full range of advisory and liaison services to support the administration of a complex budget. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
