Duties
You will advise the Department Director of important office matters arising during their absence.
You will handle administrative correspondence, telephone, and email inquiries concerning assignments.
You will maintain a tickler system to ensure that replies are received within time allotted.
You will maintain calendars and schedules, while scheduling appointments and accepting or declining invitations to meetings.
You will provide coverage for Directorate and Deputy Director's office or other command senior management officials when requested/required.
You will respond to requests for information and resolve or assist in resolving a variety of actions.
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector serving as the principle clerical and administrative support to an organizational unit carrying out and coordinating all the clerical and administrative support activities to accomplish work of the organization. Specialized Experience must include performing duties such as the following: 1.) Reviewing outgoing correspondence and reports for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and compliance with established manuals; 2.) Receiving and screening telephone calls and visitors to determine the nature of the caller and make appropriate referral; 3.) Responding to requests for information; 4.) Coordinating travel arrangements and hotel reservations; 5.) Using various office automation software to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve and print forms, memos, and letters.
