You will serve as a CORRESPONDENCE TECHNICIAN (OFFICE AUTOMATION) in the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery of BUREAU OF MEDICINE AND SURGERY.
Duties
You will provide assistance to the Director and Deputy Director for Secretariat ensuring accurate disposition of incoming official tasking.
You will support the Secretariat through receipt, analysis, routing, and research procedures of official tasks.
You will perform a wide range of administrative and analytical duties in the formulation and completion of final responses for Congressional and individual requests.
You will assist in the management of the internal and external tasker tickler system databases providing daily reports and status on more than 100 taskers, which change on a daily basis.
You will give assistance to the management of the implementation of a highly complex paperless correspondence tracking system which includes analysis of taskings from higher authority.
You will clearly review all incoming and outgoing correspondence for accuracy and compliance to established policies.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-6 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Utilizing automated systems/software effectively (i.e., e-mail, web browsers, word processors, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, and automated forms programs, etc.);
Drafting, typing, and proofing letters, reports, instructions and memoranda, including military and business writing styles;
Analyzing and evaluating tasker requirements and work processes;
Recognizing and analyzing problems, conducting research, summarizing results and making appropriate recommendations
Performing database management operations utilizing a records and consolidated knowledge enterprise repository, (e.g. Department of the Navy Tasks, Records, and Enterprise Tasker Management Solution System (ETMS2) or similar databases to ensure compliance, streamline task, and records management operations through the use of system imposed governance (i.e., required fields, templates, and automated workflows) and end-user training; AND
Communicating, both oral and written, with senior executive level officials, both military and civilian.
