This position is part of the Selective Service System, Office of the Director. The incumbent will be responsible for serving as a senior advisor on issues concerning strategic planning, organization performance, policy coordination and Presidential transition and reports to the Chief of Staff .
Duties
Senior advisor on issues concerning strategic planning, organizational performance, policy coordination and Presidential transition.
Seeks and implements cross-functional integration through process improvements and technology modernization.
Provides objectives, professional policy advice to aid in integration efforts throughout the organization.
Collaborates with executive leadership, staff, volunteers, and field stakeholders to develop the organization's focus on customer experiences.
Develops staffing and funding guidance for each of the organizations activities and able to perform continuous appraisal of its divisions and offices.
Qualifications
At the GS-15 level, you must meet the following qualification:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience for this position includes applying advanced management and organizational principles, planning, programming and budgeting regulations, guidelines and processes to organizational programs; observing organizational operations to improve cross-functional integration or identify growth opportunities; issuing definitive reports that outline methodology, findings, and recommendations for corrective action or improve integration; providing policy advice to aid in integration efforts for an organization.

TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for specialized experience at this series and grade level.
