You will serve as a Production Superintendent (Nuclear Powered Aircraft Carrier Support) for Japan Workforce Support, Production Resources Department of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will provide both administrative and technical supervision for a wide variety of mixed trades, technical, and managerial personnel supporting the overhaul, repair, maintenance and testing of naval nuclear ships.
You will determine goals for the subordinate workforce, and develop plans for their accomplishment.
You will coordinate efforts with production requirements and nuclear restrictions, assess the impact of programs on production efforts, determine organizational guidelines and set priorities.
You will promote and administer management programs such as safety, cost reduction, productivity improvement, energy conversation, incentive awards and employee performance appraisals.
You will ensure all employees are cognizant of the importance of exhibiting a high code of conduct and ambassadorship to the host nation.
You will make decisions regarding appropriate disposition on a range of complex personnel issues by evaluating incident reports, reviewing status of forces agreements and work with the legal office.
You will organize, coordinate, prioritize, and direct subordinates in accomplishment of work projects.
You will plan and coordinate training for the workforce supervised, and others within the administrative area of responsibility.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing administrative and technical oversight and guidance in planning and production of repair, overhaul, maintenance and testing of naval nuclear ships and systems. Examples of qualifying experience include: managing or directing production efforts for the overhaul, repair, or testing of shipboard work; managing material, labor costs, and overtime for shipyard projects; coordinating the efforts of various trades in completing a shipyard project.
