Duties

- Aerial Delivery personnel will prepare, rig, inspect, load and recover all unilateral airdrop training loads. - Aerial Delivery personnel will perform as a drop zone and load team member/chief based on requirements and personnel availability. - Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe work environment. - Maintain a clean work environment

  • Work requires assignment to rotating shifts as missions workload dictates.

  • The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position.
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-5200 Miscellaneous Occupations Group. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is ability to do the work of a RIGGING WORKER without more than normal supervision. JOB ELEMENTS: Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Ability to follow specific oral. written, and technical publications. 2. Ability to follow established safety standards and procedures. 3. Ability to use hand and electric tools and required equipment to perform assigned duties. 4. Ability to lift, pull, push and move items up to and including 70 pounds. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Personnel regularly left objects weighing over 35lbs without assistance. Anything over 35lbs should require assistance from another worker or usage of handling equipment. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is both indoors and outdoors in all types of weather. Members are subject to possible cuts and burns while handling wire and fiber ropes. They are exposed to cuts, bruises, and broken bones from falls while climbing and attaching rigging to the load and while signaling the crane operator from platforms and other structures. They are frequently exposed to serious injury from swinging loads, breaking slings, and falling objects. Various protective devices such as hard hats, safety shoes, and gloves are used to minimize these conditions. They are exposed to greater possibility of injury from swinging loads while working in confined areas. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
