Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify at the GS-13 level: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: Applying expertise in data gathering and analysis techniques for conducting inspections, investigations, or reviews. Ability to recognize and resolve discrepancies and/or inconsistencies from data gathered from a variety of sources. Preparing detailed written investigative reports, risk-based assessments, or written analysis. Making recommendations to stakeholders regarding investigative activities.
