The mission of DEEOIC is to deliver benefits to eligible employees and former employees of the Department of Energy, its contractors and subcontractors or to certain survivors of such individuals, as provided in the Energy Employees' Occupational Illness Compensation Act (EEOICPA).
This position is responsible for providing administrative and operational claims support in administering benefits of the EEOICPA.
This position is inside the bargaining unit.
Duties
Advertised salary reflects the pay range for the above locations. Upon selection, the salary will be set in accordance with the selectee's assigned duty location.

Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-6, in the Federal Service. Qualifying specialized experience includes:
Answered inquiries related to claims work in a governmental or private insurance setting;
Worked with lay medical knowledge associated with illnesses, various physical ailments, diseases, medical treatment programs and associated costs and alternative treatments;
Communicated orally and in writing clearly and informatively for a wide variety of people; and
Used office automation systems and applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
Education
There is no substitution of education for experience for this position.
