Duties

Interprets guidance/directives/regulations concerning property accounting management, depreciation and asset equity and provides guidance to affected DFAS personnel. Administers a data base management system in support of the DFAS Property Management Program. Oversees an automated property management system that monitors DFAS property accountability and the depreciation of DFAS capital assets. Ensures budgetary compliance within program guidance on all property acquisitions. Reviews and consolidates all financial data from centralized procurement and ensures compliance with established procedures. Serves as point of contact for administrative aspects of property acquisitions to include oversight and review of purchasing requests for adequacy and compliance to policies. Oversees receipt control procedures to record the status of all material in the storing cycle.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S Citizen or National.
  • Registered for Selective Service (males born after 12-31-1959).
  • Suitable for Federal employment.
  • Time after Competitive Appointment: Candidates must have served 3 months after latest competitive appointment in the Federal service.
  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.

Qualifications

Human Resources will determine your qualifications based on your interest and the additional following criteria. Resumes for federal government positions need more detailed work descriptions and accomplishments than a typical private sector resume. Please be sure to clearly describe the full scope of your work experiences in your resume. Combinations of education and experience may also be sufficient. To be hired at the GS-7 entry grade level, applicants must minimally have: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of a GS-06 within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized experience is defined as: demonstrating knowledge and experience with supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions; conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstructing records for complex supply transactions; and/or providing supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, or parts; performing routine aspects of supply work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management GS-07 Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-06 or higher grade in Federal Service.

Education

Substitution of Education for Experience: One full year of graduate level education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required when it is directly related to the work of the position being filled. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. If you are using education to substitute for the specialized experience, you must submit transcripts at the time you apply. To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (http://www2.ed.gov/admins/finaid/accred/index.html).
