This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. The incumbent performs records management work in order to achieve adequate and proper documentation of the policies and transactions of the Federal Government and effective and economical management of NARA operations.

Duties

As a Records & Information Management Specialist, you will: Implement record management laws, regulations, rules, policies, precedents, processes, and procedures applicable to the NARA Records and Information Management program. Monitor agency records management tools and practices throughout the organization by working with agency records liaisons to implement records retention, develop file plans, and other records management practices. Conduct Continuity of Operations (COOP) essential records inventory and other related COOP activities. Assist in overseeing records operational processes and activities conducted by other records management staff.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: - Performing hardcopy and electronic records management work- to include planning, directing, or organizing activities involved with records management; AND - Communicating effectively to advise or conduct training for staff on guidance/procedures. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12level for 52 weeks.
