About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, Supply and Services Division, in Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico.

Duties

Oversee operation of the Standard Army Logistics Information Systems (LIS) to ensure inventory accountability, asset availability, and automated data processing equipment serviceability in accordance with regulatory guidelines. Receive, store, and issue a wide variety of equipment and supplies. Serve as the authority and overall manager for all supply systems within the Installation Supply Support Activity. Plan, direct, control, and coordinate the LIS requisition processes, turn-ins, issues, receipts, shipments, and stored items. Manage the requisition, receipt, and warehousing of all authorized stockage list items. Perform location and cyclic surveys and inventories to ensure inventory accuracy is maintained within established Army requirements. Conduct investigative research and provide detailed written documentation as required for all Inventory Adjustment Reports generated by the LIS. Serve as the subject matter expert for the LIS operations in support of the single stock fund. Produce monthly reconciliation reports for customers; and conduct face-to-face customer reconciliation reports when accuracy does not meet established goals.

  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Performing general supply related duties for an organization; 2) Conducting inventory accountability utilizing an automated data processing system such as the Standard Army Logistics Information Systems (LIS); 3) Providing technical direction and/or guidance to personnel regarding transportation functions; and 4) Maintaining supply files and/or documentation to ensure audit trails are maintained on assets received, issued, and/or shipped. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). -OR- Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, or another related field. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) -OR- Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the second lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
