About the Position: This is a General Supply Specialist GS-2001-07 developmental to a General Supply Specialist GS-2001-09. The incumbent will work under closer than normal supervision at the journeyman level performing assignments designed to provide the competencies, skills, and experience required to perform more complex work at the full performance grade level. The work increases in difficulty, complexity, and responsibility as the incumbent gains experience
Duties
Works under closer than normal supervision at the journeyman level performing assignments designed to provide the competencies, skills, and experience required to perform the more complex work at the full performance grade level.
Assures all requisitions for the purchase of equipment, personal property, and supplies are properly reviewed for authorization and processed according to applicable army regulations.
Assures that finished work and methods used are technically accurate and in compliance with instructions or established procedures.
Interprets regulations and directives and provides implementing instructions to hand receipt holders regarding requests, adjustments, turn-ins, hand receipts for installation property book items.
Maintains property book records and establishes and maintains a schedule of annual inventories of the property book account.
Coordinates with the Property Book Officer to conduct the Table of Distributions and Allowances (TDA) annual Reconciliation.
Prepares and assists Hand Receipt Holders as required in their inventories and adjusts property records as required to ensure accuracy.
Assures management and hand receipt holders are informed and trained.
Advises Hand Receipt Holders and upper-level management personnel on the proper management of property and the procedures for processing Financial Liability Investigation of Property Loss.

- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- A one year of probationary period may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes responsible for the maintenance of property book office functions, property management and inventory management; application of supply regulations, policies, and procedures (e.g., inventory management principles; concepts and methodologies related to requisitioning, receipt, storage and distribution systems); and maintenance of inventory management systems, property accounting systems, equipment cataloging or similar automated systems.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration, Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Property Accounting, or similar closely related field of study.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
