THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a Maintenance Test Pilot, Position Description Number PDD2459000 and is part of the WY Army Aviation Support Facility, Wyoming Army National Guard.
Duties
This position serves as a full performance Maintenance Test Pilot for multi-engine helicopter in the UH-60 Blackhawk. Provides technical advice on associated maintenance functions and recommends test flight plans, policies and procedures.
(1) Performs maintenance test flights of rotary wing aircraft to determine that the airframe, power plant and power train, subsystems accessories, and other auxiliary equipment are functioning in accordance with current US Army publications, policies and predetermined requirements in the intended operational environment for the purpose of certifying the airworthiness of the complete aircraft.
(2) Conducts final test flights prior to the release of the aircraft for operational use after
modification or repairs to include component changes such as engines repairs, transmissions rotor blades, wings, and avionics modification packages performed by the Aviation maintenance activity.
(3) Tests avionics modification and equipment packages for in-flight reliability, proper operation and accuracy for use in critical or actual instrument conditions to complete approaches to a safe landing.
(4) Monitors quality control function to include weight and balance, time before component removal for overhaul (TBO), regulations, Safety of Flight (SOF), Maintenance Information Messages (MIMS), Aviation Safety Action Messages (ASAMS) and DA 2408 series forms for compliance.
(5) Performs ferry flights of aircraft to support installation maintenance activities or for transfer/turn-in purposes.

AREAS OF CONSIDERATION:
Primary consideration will be made from Areas 1, 2 and 4. If referrals are not made from the target category, subsequent referrals may next be made from Area 6 (if eligible).
Area 1: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming National Guard (NG) WY ARNG employees assigned to the Army Aviation Support Facility.
Area 2: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming National Guard (NG) T32 Dual Status technicians employed within the Wyoming Army National Guard.
Area 4: All current M-day soldiers of the Wyoming Army National Guard.
Area 6: Current military members of the US Army, Army Reserves, or other states' Army National Guard units. Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Army National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position.

Max: CW4 / O3/CPT

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must possess at least two years specialized competencies in operating a UH-60 military helicopter, mission planning, and mission preparation. Experienced in performing as a Pilot-in-Command of UH-60 series aircraft. Competent in conducting or supervising the training of crew members in simple to complex mission specific tasks. Experienced in developing plans and policies, monitoring operations, and advising commanders. Knowledge is required in flight theory, air navigation, meteorology, flying directives, mission tactics, and operating procedures.
Maintenance Test Pilot qualified candidates preferred.
NOTE: Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. Applicants must provide from (e.g., 02/2015 - 03/2017 or Feb 2017 - Mar 2017) dates and hours
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.
Must possess MOS 15A - Aviation or 153D - UH-60 Pilot
Per 10 USC 10216(b)(1)(C): Those organizations with the primary mission of providing direct support for the reserve components of the Army and Air Force, to the extent that the military technicians (dual status) in such units would mobilize and deploy in a skill that is compatible with their civilian position skill. (e.g., pilots must be compatible)
DRIVER'S LICENSE:
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Education
Must have Federal Aviation Administration certifications awarded from accredited civilian aviation programs or must have aviation certifications from accredited military aviation schools.
