THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a Airplane Pilot, Position Description Number PDD0253P02 and is part of the WY 153rd Airlift Wing, Wyoming Air National Guard.

Duties

The purpose of this position is to pilot a unit-equipped (UE) airplane and assignment will be within 153d Airlift Wing (AW) Plans section and will report to the 153 AW Vice Commander. (1) Pilots advanced multi-engine military airplane on tactical/non-tactical assigned missions using advanced precision instrument flight techniques in conjunction with air navigational aids. (2) Prepares for flight to include: securing current and forecast weather information to determine conditions along the proposed route of flight and at the destination; plans the flight through the study of maps and charts to determine routing, intermediate stops, alternate destination, fuel requirements, estimated flying time and, if required, files the airplane flight plan; checks or verifies that the airplane is ready for flight, including such aspects as loading and weight distribution, maintenance or service conditions, and performing prescribed preflight checks; ensures that any passengers and crew members are briefed on the nature and purpose of the flight and the procedures to be followed in an emergency; and obtains the proper clearances to begin the flight. (3) Operates the airplane with the utmost safety to include adhering to flight procedures and parameters specified in the airplane flight manual; communicating and coordinating with ground units and controlling activities; monitoring performance of the airplane and progress of the flight; and takes corrective action, including the use of emergency procedures as required. (4) Develops unit deliberate planning for implementation of wartime, base and national tasking. Maintains detailed wartime and peacetime contingency plans and supplements for unit mobility, deployment, strange field operations/employment, and redeployment of the unit. Coordinates with the gaining command, National Guard Burean and appropriate theater headquarters. ** This is NOT an all-inclusive list of duties. **

Area 1: Permanent and indefinite Wyoming National Guard (NG) WY ANG employees assigned to the 153d Airling Wing Staff. Area 2: Ppermanent and indefinite Wyoming Air National Guard (ANG) T32 Dual Status technicians employed within the Wyoming Air National Guard. Area 4: Current military members of the Wyoming Air National Guard. Area 6: Current military members to include the US Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and other states' Air National Guard units. Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Air National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position. MANDATORY QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Eligibility requirements for Dual Status technician positions in this occupation are based on the possession of Federal Aviation Administration pilot certificates -OR- appropriate military certifications, military ratings in the C-130H, and the required competencies (knowledge, skills, and abilities). SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 24 months working experiences in civilian aviation programs; or military service aviation programs (active duty or reserve components); or Air National Guard Wing / Operations Group; and at least 24 months experiences in piloting or instructing others in piloting C-130 aircraft in the following: Supervising and/or conducting mission planning/tasks/preparations, filing of flight plans, reading, and applying intelligence reports and weather information, conducting crew briefings; aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, equipment assessments, and mission manning. Performing or supervising the work procedures involved in navigation, search and rescue operations, surveillance, or reconnaissance; crew member training on simple to complex mission specific tasks; flying in mountainous terrain, performing tactical remote site evaluations, performing landings on remote sites, providing ground and flight training, and conducting night-vision operations or instructions. Developing plans and policies, monitoring operations, and advising commanders; and wartime and peacetime contingency plans and supplements used for unit mobilizations, deployments, strange field operations, or troop missions and redeployments; and reviewing and complying with applicable service flight publications and directives for accuracy and currency. Unit flying, explosive, and ground safety programs in accordance with Department of the Air Force, National Guard Bureau, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration directives; applying directives, regulations, accident reports, safety data, and local operating conditions to determine unit safety program requirements; flying operations and coordinating with appropriate agencies to ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and programs; and completing safe and efficient mission accomplishments through the use of Operational Risk Management. Traditional "stick and rudder" type controls for piloting aircraft direction, altitude, and speed; using aircraft instrumentation and aircraft mounted video cameras; visual flight- rule type flying and aircraft instrument flying; and flying simulated "real world" combat and non- combat missions and terrain. Performing aviation duties such as, planning, scheduling, and conducting training flights through Federal Aviation Administration controlled national airspace; cancelling flying activities, diverting aircraft, dictating mission requirements, approving specific activities, or directing emergency actions that involved unit support agencies. Standardization and evaluation programs, written ground examinations, emergency procedures, and aircrew performance standards in accordance with applicable directives and Federal Aviation Administration certification requirements. NOTE: General and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. Applicants must provide from (e.g., 02/2015 - 03/2017 or Feb 2017 - Mar - 2017) dates and hours worked per week with description of your specialized experience on the resume. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement. COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: Prefer AFSC 11M3B, C130 E/H Mobility Pilot, and 12M3B, C-130 E/H Mobility Combat Systems Officer. DRIVER'S LICENSE: Must possess a valid state's driver's license.

Education

Applicant must have Federal Aviation Administration certifications awarded from accredited civilian aviation programs OR must have aviation certifications from accredited military aviation schools.
