About the Position: Serves as a Budget Analyst in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Financial Management and Comptroller), Funds Management and Control Division. The employee performs various functions that pertain to the control and distribution of funds in the Army's financial systems for Army appropriations and certain Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) funds executed by the Army.

Duties

At the Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA) level, responsible for controlling and distributing the Army's funding and selected Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) appropriations/funding executed by Army. Conducts research and data analytics of financial data contained within agency systems. Responsible for supporting Army’s goals toward a clean audit opinion in the area of funds control and distribution.

Requirements

  • Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position. Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • You may be expected to travel up to 10% for this position.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget AdministrationControl of FundsFinancial Systems Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
