Duties
You will manage software defined radio (SDR) configuration plans, troubleshooting, in-depth diagnostics, fault isolation, repair and preventative maintenance of commands' hand-held and man-pack radios, and mobility communications packages.
You will also manage mobile ad-hoc networks and ancillary equipment comprised of advanced commercial and military radio systems.
You will provide direct customer support to include field testing, new equipment recommendation, training, resolving problems related to configuration management, systems functionality, equipment installation, and hardware and software configuration.
You will identify, perform, and oversee the installation, fabrication, and assembly of various Radio Frequency (RF) cables, military standards connectors, and component specific commercial connectors.
You will develop approval requests for temporary modifications to solve unique technical issues with equipment, configurations, and functionality.
You will utilize an extensive variety of Test, Measuring, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) to analyze, evaluate, test, calibrate, modify, diagnose, and perform corrective repair to assure equipment integrity.
You will interpret complex electronics diagrams and schematics, troubleshoot with tactical teams, vendors or government agencies to determine malfunction/outage, and lead efforts to repair/restore systems.
You will develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules in accordance with factory and military publications.

- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is subject to random counterintelligence scope polygraph examinations.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
Qualifications
GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing a variety of unusual telecommunications Radio Frequency (RF) conditions, problems, questions, or conditions associated with formulating projects or studies to substantially alter major telecommunications systems (e.g., systems compatibility, circuits, switches, distribution, RF links, RF interference, and networking).
GS-10: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting with installation, operation, troubleshooting, fault isolation, repair and preventive maintenance of command Radio Frequency communications system.
