Duties

You will be identifying and solving a wide variety of complex problems with many competing objectives and maintenance of advanced worldwide telecommunications and Satellite Communications (SATCOM) systems. You will coordinate frequency requests with installations spectrum manager or other agencies to de-conflict frequency assignments when required. You will lead the collection and evaluation of electronic equipment performance data. interpreting and analyzing designs, diagrams, and schematics. You will provide direct customer support which includes field testing, new equipment recommendation, site surveys, training, resolving, problems related to configuration management. You will design approval requests for temporary modifications to solve unique one-of-a-kind technical issues with the equipment, configurations, and functionality.

Requirements

  • Required to report to the command when requested
  • May be required to travel on military or civilian aircraft and waterborne craft, deploy onboard ships, or serve at remote sites as required.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • May be required to travel or perform temporary additional duty assignments for approximately 25% of the rime both inside and outside the Continental United States in executing assigned technical advisory or consultation duties.
  • Position may be exposed to hazardous environments and may be authorized special/danger pay as provided by Department of State, the Office of Personnel Management or agency
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performs several communications fields and adjacent technologies to include electronic engineering and communications waveform theory and development, software defined radio, mobile ad-hoc network, IT systems and engineering configurations.
