This announcement uses the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
Duties
Perform a variety of warehouse tasks which involves receiving, unloading, staging, and processes incoming shipments of items arriving via various modes of transportation.
Operate forklifts capable of lifting up to 10,000 lbs. to move palleted material from open storage areas to designated areas.
Perform a full range of warehouse functions for all direct shipment receipts
Assist in the distribution of items; obtain signatures of hand receipt holder, or their designated representative.
Performs inspections and verifies items received against a government purchase order or contract.
Receive supplies and equipment by unloading trucks; move items by handcart, forklift or similar conveyance, etc.
Assist with routine office tasks such as answering telephone, taking messages, filing, and/or retrieving documents.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires a valid state drivers license.
- The incumbent must complete a successful pre-employment physical and annually thereafter.
- This position may require carrying and/or moving objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- The duties of this position require Travel up to 10% of the time.
- May be required to serve a one year probationary period.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Materials Handler (Forklift Operator) without more than normal supervision. Your resume must demonstrate that you have the ability to perform duties such as operating a forklift, receiving shipments, and/or verifying purchase orders against deliveries. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Light to moderate physical effort is used in carrying, lifting parcels and bundles, moving skids, loading and unloading vehicles etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works inside and outside in cold, damp, drafty, hot and dusty areas. Subject to full days of unheated warehouse buildings, and standing on concrete floors. Subject to injury from falling objects, collisions, shifts loads, overturning materials.
