This position is located in the Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO); Office of Safety, Health, and Environmental Management (SHEM); Policy and Special Studies Division (PSS). SHEM's mission is to minimize risk to life, health, and safety for all Department of State and other Federal Agencies, employees, and overseas family members supported by the Department to maintain the integrity of overseas operations to minimize the impact of our operations on the environment.
Duties
Develops and implements plans and strategies for the internal and external integration of day-to-day and long-range communication and information dissemination projects, actions, and activities for office communications platforms.
Liaises with information technology managers and administrators, representing SHEM in meetings and discussions.
Oversees all administrative functions of the office, including but not limited to making logistical arrangements for conferences and meetings, ordering office supplies, processing cables and funding requests, and serving as an office timekeeper.
Conducts queries and compiles analytical reports based on compiled data to identify program performance trends, strengths, and weaknesses for SHEM program and office management.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement. Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience with implementing plans and strategies for communications or information dissemination projects or activities.
Experience with processing administrative actions required for managing office functions.
Experience with assembling and compiling information, statistics, and reports.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-12 position.
Education
This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
