About the Position:This position is located in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Information Technology (DCSIT), located in Monterey, California. Monterey is approximately 115 miles south of San Francisco and 350 miles north of Los Angeles. Monterey County is considered a high cost area and the cost of housing is high. Duties

Utilize an automated supply system to extract purchase requests. Analyze supply regulations to perform a variety of technical support duties related to purchasing a wide variety of goods and services. Maintain up-to-date status on projects that are awarded, deleted, or moved. Purchase supplies utilizing the Government Purchase Card. Make corrections to supply system errors with extensive searches of missing equipment or information. Prepare reports for support supply operations. Track and inventory supplies. Maintain supply documents according to organization standards. Perform stock functions to ensure sufficient stocks are available within a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is designated as Mission Essential. Employee is required to report for duty during Natural Disasters and other emergency situations as directed by the supervisor.
  • Employee must maintain a functioning telephone at residence to aid in contact during emergency situations.
  • Shift work may be required or change in work shift may be necessary. Hours of work encompass fluctuating tours of duty to include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Overtime may be required as directed and is subject to recall for periods of emergency overtime.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license, and any installation, DOD and/or Federal license or certification required for vehicle operated.
  • Requires operating motor vehicles and some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of heavy items. At times may be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 70 pounds.
  • Completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement GS-06: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
