You will serve as a Production Controller in the Facilities Management Division of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will recommend corrective action to management on variations impacting cost, performance, or scheduling. You will review completed work packages to confirm repairs are completed and documented. You will schedule projects for efficient and timely execution whether performed by in house workforce or by contract. You will monitor all job order numbers and project packages to ensure they are correct and funded properly.

Qualifications

GS-09 I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-08 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1) Practical knowledge of all production methods and procedures, machines, and materials; and considerable skill and experience to plan and schedule the production cycle for construction, repair, and renovation projects performed by in house workforce or contractor personnel. 2) Ability to monitor production operations and conduct significant coordination with various interested parties on the timing and sequence of a wide variety of public works projects. 3) Practical knowledge of the organization, mission and functions, (e.g., engineering, budget, contracting and procurement) to prioritize various processes governing production operations and to ascertain fund availability, etc. 4) Ability to analyze production operations to determine if schedules are being followed, if they can be improved, the causes of production delays; and ability to apply problem resolution skills. 5) Skill and experience in the use of business applications systems used in a production control environment such as MAXIMO, Microsoft Office, MS Project, Work Manager and Data Base systems for data entry and queries. 6) Must be able to work under pressure of short, fused requirements and adapt to changes of program requirements. 7) Must have knowledge of NAVFAC FEC and PWD operations and maintenance capabilities and pertinent safety practices. 8) Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels. 9) Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. GS-08 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Responsible for using workload management database for inducting, routing, and tracking projects. 2) Responsible to query and run reports in workload management systems such as BIMS, COGNOS, Maximo, etc. 3) Utilizes basic knowledge of federal funding to generate reimbursable and non-reimbursable funding requests. 4) Relies on basic knowledge of Microsoft suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel) to include detailed reporting and flow charts to complete tasks such as monthly reporting, answering data calls, and maintaining data bases. 5) Utilizes basic office management skills which includes filing, time management, customer communication, and material ordering. 6) Completes daily tasks with moderate supervision.
