This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for serving as a security professional for the development, calculation, inter-agency coordination and processing of defense systems' nonrecurring cost charge approvals, non-recurring cost waivers, and special access program technologies.
Duties
As a SECURITY ASSISTANCE ANALYST at the GS-0301-12 level, some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serving as a security professional for the development, calculation, inter-agency coordination and processing of defense systems' nonrecurring cost charge approvals, non-recurring cost waivers, and special access program technologies.
Providing written responses to Security Cooperation (SC) related Congressional and public inquiries regarding non-recurring (NC) charges, NC waivers and leases.
Assisting with data review, validating metrics of waivers and maintaining a detailed tracker/database of leases to foreign countries for reporting purposes.
Reviewing and analyzing country requests to waive applicable NCs, while working closely with DoD Agencies to develop recommended actions to Senior Leadership.
Managing and overseeing defense leases and Special NC charges, ensuring coding of Major Defense Equipment (MOE) and Military Department charge requests are in accordance with the regulation.
Responding to internal and external customers on topics such as Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), policy, waivers and leases, etc.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
Implementation and administration of policy, procedures, legislation, and cost waivers;
Analyzing pricing policies to determine whether funds issued and expenditures are proper, necessary and timely;
Preparing oral and written correspondence in response to inquiries for information;
Working with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Non-reoccurring cost and lease waivers, No Cost Lease agreements, Excess Defense Articles program (EDA) and Special Defense Acquisition Fund, project development;
Working independently developing solutions.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
