The Kansas City VA Medical Center is seeking a highly qualified Transportation Assistant to work in the Facilities Department.

The incumbent serves as the Fleet Program Assistant, GS-2102-6 for the Kansas City Veterans Administration Medical Center. The incumbent's primary responsibilities are dispatching vehicles, coordinating, planning, budgeting, and maintaining consistency in fleet services.
Major duties include, but are not limited to:
Communicates effectively with internal and external contacts.
Collects request data and verifies for complete information.
Schedules services based on requests received.
Enters information into an established database for service tracking.
Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday Schedule will be determined by supervisor

Qualifications

You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience includes but not limited to the following:-Tracks all vehicle histories from time of purchase/donation.-Reviews budgets and billings and Operates machinery managed and operated by Facilities Management.-Dispatch vehicles, coordinating, planning, budgeting, and maintaining consistency in fleet services.-Communicates effectively both orally and in writing with a wide range of individuals to include personnel within the facility as well as other government and non-government agencies, contractors, vendors, law enforcement agencies, etc.; and submits documentation to contracting in support of vehicle repairs.-Serves as technical advisor to the Chief, Engineering Service in the modification of fleet systems to meet the needs of the facility.
Education: There is no educational substitution for the GS-06 level.

Physical Requirements: Most of the incumbent's duties are sedentary in nature with occasional walking, climbing stooping bending and reaching as required.
