Duties
Develops and implements various environmental program management plans, regulatory notifications, and permit applications/modifications.
Conducts periodic audits of practices and operations to identify problems and assess compliance with environmental rules and regulations.
Reviews plans, specifications, and estimates for new construction and renovation for compliance with environmental regulations and minimization of environmental impacts.
Advises appropriate managers/staff of identified issues and recommends corrective actions.
Requirements

- A four year degree in Environmental Sciences is not required, but preferred.
Qualifications
You qualify at the GS-11 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:
A. You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: planning and implementing environmental protection programs; interpreting environmental protection laws and regulations; implementing quality assurance programs related to environmental protection; and monitoring equipment for proper operation and spill control.
OR
B. You have completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.M., if related.
OR
C. You have a combination of post baccalaureate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification
requirements for this position.
You qualify at the GS-12 level, if you meet one the following qualification requirement:
A. You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: planning and implementing environmental protection programs; participating in the review of environmental protection plans, regulations, policies, procedures, and/or programs; performing monitoring/sampling as required by various permits and regulations; participating in conducting training and practice drills for staff who are involved in spill response, control, and cleanup plans; and providing technical guidance to personnel involved in the handling and disposal of hazardous materials and wastes.
You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
