The United States Capitol Police (USCP) safeguards the Congress, Members of Congress, employees, visitors, and Congressional buildings and grounds from crime, disruption, and terrorism. We protect and secure Congress so it can fulfill its constitutional and legislative responsibilities in a safe, secure and open environment.

Duties

This position is located within the Office of Background Investigations and Credentialing (OBIC) Badging and Credentialing Division (BCD). OBIC is responsible conducting background investigations on potential employees and fingerprinting USCP applicants as well as employees and members of the Congressional community.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.1. Must not be in restricted leave status as of the closing date of this announcement. 2. Must be in full and unrestricted duty status as of the selection date unless otherwise authorized by law (e.g., performance of duty injury, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), or Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA)).3. Must not have disciplinary actions for the last 3 years. All eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the vacancy announcement.
