About the Position: Position serves as the primary point of contact concerning all family and uniformed temporary duty casualty travel. Position requires on call duty to include evening and weekend duties determined by the mission requirements. Position is in Human Resources Command (HRC), The Adjutant General Directorate (TAGD), Casualty & Memorial Affairs, at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

Duties

Implements the Defense Travel System (DTS) program for Family and uniformed casualty travel Provides and coordinates time sensitive travel orders, lodging, and transportation for all authorized persons in a timely manner Trains new travelers and approving officials on DTS policies and procedures. Serves as a subject matter expert on casualty travel processes and standard operating procedures using DTS and non-DTS travel processes for unique travel Serves as a Reviewing Official (RO), Approving Official (AO), or T-Signer as required, and performs the associated functions

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Position requires completion of one (1) year probationary period unless the requirement has been previously met.
  • Position may require work other than normal duty hours, which may include overtime, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • May be contacted by phone while on call to assist with critical casualty travel situations questions that cannot wait until regular business hours.
  • Completion of corresponding Civilian Education System level requirements within one (1) year of appointment.
  • Excepted and Mission Essential Personnel (Emergency Employee)
  • Requires rotating within the team to cover the on-call schedule questions that cannot wait until regular business hours.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience to qualify. For this position at the GS-11 grade Level you must possess:

A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree.
