DCSA's Background Investigations (BI), FIRE Outreach is looking for a Supervisory Personnel Security Specialist to serve as a technical consultant and project leader to organize, direct and manage major integrated operations supporting background investigation functions and services. Duties
This announcement is open to: Current DCSA Employees who live or are currently employed in the Fort Meade local commuting area, which includes the District of Columbia and Baltimore City; Maryland counties of Anne Arundel, Prince George, Montgomery, Howard, Harford, Charles, Calvert, Carroll, Frederick and Baltimore; Adams County in Pennsylvania; City of Alexandria, VA; Virginia counties of Arlington, Stafford, Prince William, and Fairfax and all cities existing in Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania within the geographic area bounded by the outer boundaries of the combined areas of the aforementioned counties.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS/GG13) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility.
Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Acting as a knowledge based authority regarding the U.S. Government's Personnel Security Program, Background Investigation and details specific to the Federal Vetting Guidelines and Investigative Standards.
Coordinating and delivering authoritative operational guidance, recommendations and decisions based on current threats posed in a digital environment by foreign intelligence adversaries, terrorist entities, and Insider Threats.
Utilizing operational knowledge of personnel security and policies to lead employees to support the agency mission.
Coordinating a wide range of security concepts principles, practices, security program interrelationships and multiple security objectives to establish project objectives and work priorities.
