About the Position: This position is located with the US Army Medical Command, Madigan Army Medical Center, Military Personnel Division, Tacoma, WA

Duties

Provide administrative and technical military personnel support for the Troop Commander and Military Personnel Team at Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC). Serves as principal assistant liaison between Special Pay Branch and MAMC on Special Pay Bonus Contracts. Serves as a technical point of contact on questions regarding regulations, polices, practices and theories as it pertains to military programs. Work performed requires the ability to analyze complex situations and exercise a high degree of judgment, discretion, and initiative in the accomplishment of assigned duties.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is an inclement weather position which means you would be expected to make every attempt to report to duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather.
  • A National Agency Check w/inquiries (NACI) background investigation is required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience providing administrative and technical support on reviewing and processing military personnel actions (such as: pay, promotions, evaluations, retirements and separations) and using automated systems or office software programs to enter data, complete forms and assess statistical data from databases for accuracy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
