The purpose of this civilian position is to perform a variety of preliminary and immediate control tasks in regards to the maintenance, inspection, and repair of aircraft, aircraft propulsion units to include engines and their subsystems, associate Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE), and auxiliary power units via weekly and monthly maintenance schedules and plans. Additionally, will assist Aircraft Scheduler, trains reservists and other office personnel in the accomplishments of tasks.
Duties
Develops maintenance, operational plans for assigned aircraft, control tasks in regards to the maintenance and repair of aircraft and their propulsion units including engines, their subsystems, and associated Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE) and Auxiliary Power Units (APU)
Functions as the Aircraft/Engine Tracking/Comprehensive Engine Management System (CEMS) and Data Base Monitor
Develops and recommends local engine management policy and procedures on applicable Technical Order and AFI guidance
Processes all engine download data
Serves as the Propulsion Systems Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO)/Life Limit Monitor
Prepares and conducts training and skill level progression of assigned Air Force Reserve production schedulers (Aircraft/Engine)

- The incumbent will be required to complete mandatory training requirements to include but not limited to Maintenance Management Production Technical Training and Engine Tracker course
- The incumbent must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance level designated for the position
- Temporary duty assignments (TDY), work or training opportunities may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
- The incumbent may be required to work compensatory or overtime to meet workload demands. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty
- The incumbent of this position, may be required to perform inspections or write evaluations on work center and/or maintenance group employees
- Will be expected to lead all functions of office when team is absent
- Performs other duties as assigned, not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use. This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program
Qualifications
This position is limited to 442 Maintenance at Whiteman AFB for Air Force internal applicants.
This is a Competitive Detail Not To Exceed 30 Sept 2024. The pay for the employee selected for this position will remain at their current grade and step.
QUALIFICATIONS: For Detail, employees do not have to meet the qualification requirement for the position for which they are detailed.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: No Specialized Experience Required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Ability to plan, schedule, and take corrective action to meet emergency and regular work load requirements. Skill in oral communication to effectively communicate with senior operations and maintenance personnel.
Knowledge of assigned equipment. Knowledge of and skill in the use of automated maintenance information systems and aircraft maintenance documentation processes to collect, compile, and correlate production data from a variety of sources and use that data to determine compliance status of scheduled maintenance, inspection, and modification actions.
Knowledge of and ability to interpret military aircraft and manufacturing terminology, technical orders, data, standards and instructions, and to relate them properly to the particular control projects assigned in preparing production plans and schedules and in maintaining effective follow-up.
Knowledge of maintenance organizational structures and skill in the distribution of personnel to obtain balance in work load. Ability to correlate and analyze a variety of routine production data, technical manuals, and directives to determine applicability.
Knowledge and skill of appropriate production/technical processes and material posture of maintenance work centers to assure continuing availability of material requirement.
Knowledge of aerospace systems, subsystems, components, and associated inspection, repair, modification, and supply processes. Knowledge of personnel management policies, practices, and procedures.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
