Duties
Clarificaton: Current federal employees in the Competitive or Excepted service who live or are employed in the Fort Meade local commuting area, which includes the District of Columbia and Baltimore City; Maryland counties of Anne Arundel, Prince George, Montgomery, Howard, Harford, Charles, Calvert, Carroll, Frederick and Baltimore; Adams County in Pennsylvania; Virginia counties of Arlington and Fairfax and all cities existing in Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania within the geographic area bounded by the outer boundaries of the combined areas of the aforementioned counties.

- The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required. Work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate-controlled office.
- The duties of this position may require temporary duty travel (TDY) and/or local travel.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-07 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience.
Specialized experience for this GS/GG-09 position includes: Applying Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act of 1974 exemptions to responsive records; Utilizing Executive Orders, regulations, and policy pertaining to the protection and release of personally identifiable information; analyzing a large volume of personal information contained within agency records.
Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:

Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
