About the Position: Works under the general supervision of the Chief, Registrar, Medical Center of Excellence (MEDCOE); performing recurring duties in accordance with established procedures. The Chief, Registrar provides instructions for new work, new or revised procedures, or changes from normal cyclic patterns for classes/student management documentation.

Duties

Documents class/student actions for assigned block of courses, using current student/course management systems. Uses a personal computer with user friendly software packages which include word and spreadsheet processing and database management to update reports, compile and rearrange statistics, and consolidate data; add to and change the data bases. Uses computer software programs to prepare a variety of narrative and tabular material involving the common terminology of the branch and requiring accuracy in spelling, grammar, and syllabication. Maintains automated files in order to provide updates. Provides information concerning courses orally, telephonically, or by computer printouts.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing recurring duties in accordance with established procedures; reviewing number of training seats for students from services and notifying manager of discrepancies; monitoring number of students that should arrive for each class and providing reports as required; providing information concerning courses orally, telephonically, or by computer printouts; and using correct grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and general terminology necessary to prepare documents from handwritten drafts into final form. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60.
