You will serve as a Alarm Monitor/Dispatcher in the Plans, Policies & Operations (Security) of MARINE CORPS Mountain Warfare Training CenterMARINE CORPS AIR GROUND COMBAT CTR.

Duties

You will monitor and troubleshoot all Marine Corps Electronic Security Systems, Intrusion Detection System, alarm, mass notification and CCTV systems installed and annunciating at the Provost Marshal Office/Marine Corps Police Department. You will receive and process incoming fire alarms, 911 calls, emergency and non-emergency requests for police, fire, medical emergencies, airfield emergencies, and environmental and hazardous materials incidents. You will dispatch personnel and apparatus to the scene of emergencies, record pertinent data, events, and logs, and initiate pre-arrival instructions to callers for fire, medical, and police emergencies. You will monitor status and availability of police, fire, and medical field units to assure an appropriate response is made.

• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
• You will be required to pass the Police Applicant Suitability Review (PASR) Investigation.
• Requires the ability to meet legal requirement for carrying a firearm. Must pass all weapons qualifications tests prior to assigned duties and responsibilities and must pass all re-qualifications as required.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English. Must be 18 years of age.
• This is a bargaining unit position.
• You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.

• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

GS-6 Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1.) Monitoring and troubleshooting electronic security systems, Intrusion Detection System, alarm, mass notification and CCTV systems; 2.) Receiving and processing incoming fire alarms, 911 calls, emergency and non-emergency requests for police, fire, medical emergencies or incidents, airfield emergencies and environmental and hazardous materials incidents; 3.) Monitoring status and availability of police, fire, and medical field units to assure an appropriate response is made; 4.) Preparing and maintaining a properly documented alarm control log of all alarm conditions to include setting, activation, deactivation, and other pertinent alarm information. GS-5 Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1.) monitoring and troubleshooting electronic security systems, Intrusion Detection System, alarm, mass notification and CCTV systems; 2.) Receiving and processing incoming fire alarms, 911 calls, emergency and non-emergency requests for police, fire, medical emergencies or incidents, airfield emergencies and environmental and hazardous materials incidents; 3.) Monitoring status and availability of police, fire, and medical field units to assure an appropriate response is made; 4.) Operating a variety of office automation equipment, including copy machines, facsimile machines, networked computers, laser printers, shredders, scanner, and other electronic equipment. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

GS-5:

Successfully completed four years of education above high school;

OR

A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
