You will serve as an Alarm Monitor/Dispatcher in the Provost Marsal Office/Marine Corps Police Department of Mountain Warfare Training Center.

Duties

You will monitor and troubleshoot all Marine Corps Electronic Security Systems, Intrusion Detection System, alarm, mass notification and CCTV systems installed and annunciating at the Provost Marshal Office/Marine Corps Police Department. You will receive and process incoming fire alarms, 911 calls, emergency and non-emergency requests for police, fire, medical emergencies, airfield emergencies, and environmental and hazardous materials incidents. You will dispatch personnel and apparatus to the scene of emergencies, record pertinent data, events, and logs, and initiate pre-arrival instructions to callers for fire, medical, and police emergencies. You will monitor status and availability of police, fire, and medical field units to assure an appropriate response is made.

• This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
• You will be required to pass the Police Applicant Suitability Review (PASR) Investigation.
• Requires the ability to meet legal requirement for carrying a firearm. Must pass all weapons qualifications tests prior to assigned duties and responsibilities and must pass all re-qualifications as required.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• This is a bargaining unit position.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

GS-07 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Operating electronic security systems involving numerous alarm panels/monitors, call-boxes, maintenance related items, intrusion detection systems, video motion detection systems, and various security alarms; 2) Receiving and processing 911 calls of incoming fire alarms, emergency, and non-emergency calls for fire, medical, and police assistance; 3) Dispatching emergency services to the scene of emergencies based on the capacity of the personnel and apparatus being dispatched; 4) Operating software applications programs to query records and prepare documents; and 5) Orally communicating with a variety of personnel (e.g., questioning caller to determine nature of incident, updating information to emergency response team en-route to scene, relaying information between invested parties). GS-06 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Receiving and processing 911 calls of incoming fire alarms, emergency, and non-emergency calls for fire, medical, and police assistance; 2) Dispatching emergency services to the scene of emergencies based on the capacity of the personnel and apparatus being dispatched; 3) Operating software applications programs to query records and prepare documents; and 4) Orally communicating with a variety of personnel (e.g., questioning caller to determine nature of incident, updating information to emergency response team en-route to scene, relaying information between invested parties).
