You will serve as an Intelligence Specialist as part of a Cyber Protection Team in the U S MARINE FORCES CYBERSPACE COMMAND. Analyzes and evaluates information from multiple sources in preparation of defense against potential cyber intrusions. All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Duties

You will plan, coordinate and perform complex intelligence analysis and production tasks relative to the issues in the area of responsibility for the Cyber Protection Team to which assigned. You will maintain liaison with other intelligence agencies and operation forces in conduct of daily operations. You will analyze and evaluate information from multiple sources in preparation for defense against potential cyber intrusions. You will mentor junior analysts and perform quality control for section members products. You will provide advice, guidance and feedback regarding analytical processes and efforts.

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position requires periodic polygraph examinations.
  • This position may require a 2-year DCIPS probationary period.
  • NATIONAL SECURITY AGENCY/CENTRAL SECURITY SERVICE (NSA/CSS) ADDITIONAL CLEARANCE VERIFICATION - REQUIRED FOR ACCESS TO NSA FT. MEADE. NOTE: Possession of TS/SCI clearance does not guarantee that NSA/CSS clearance verification will be granted.
  • In order to obtain access to NSA, Ft. Meade, you must be able to obtain and maintain NSA/CSS clearance verification. This clearance verification involves, but is not limited to, investigation into foreign travel and foreign contacts.
  • Travel required for contingency/exercise support, briefings, conferences, and training.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing extensive operational knowledge of capabilities and accesses of the collection disciplines, strengths and weaknesses of specific technical sensors/platforms, and human sources in an area of responsibility; 2) Executing collection using appropriate collection strategies and within the priorities established through the collection management process; 3) Developing networks and building alliances; collaborating across boundaries to build strategic relationships and achieve common goals; and, 4) Applying principles, methods, tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating, and managing projects and resources, including technical performance.
