Duties
The position is located in the Central Office of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Human Resource Management Division (HRMD), Learning and Career Development Branch (LCDB). Serves as the Deputy Chief of the Learning and Career Development Branch. He/she provides policy guidance for Central Office, Regional Offices, and institutions throughout the Bureau of Prisons. Responsible for managing and supervising the design, development, delivery, maintenance, and evaluation of curricula for training programs at the Management and Specialty Training Center, Aurora Colorado, and the Staff Training Academy, Glynco, Georgia as well as directing the Bureau’s Executive Development Program. Provides technical assistance and policy guidance to regional and institution human resource staff in areas such as program development, training evaluation, and other areas that affect functional responsibilities. Conducts research in corrections, law enforcement, public and private training, training literature (both academic and professional) and the business sector to find available curriculum and source material.

Qualifications
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements: Education: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this position. Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in federal service. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of this qualifying experience are:
Experience which demonstrates knowledge of Human Resource Management programs related to staff training, development and mentoring.
Experience assisting with the development and evaluation of policies, plans, and programs relative to staff training.
Experience in conducting needs analysis, job task analysis, and curriculum development.
Experience in designing, developing, delivering, maintaining, and evaluating curricula for training programs on a national level.
